About our rating systemAn equal to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in both scope and interest, the New York Botanical Garden boasts the world’s largest Victorian greenhouse; a "home gardening" section with classes and demonstrations for all the green thumbs out there; a children’s garden and play center; and a 50-acre native forest. If there’s any difference between the two gardens—they’re both wonderful—it may be the wealth of hands-on programming here. That being said, NYBG is far pricier to visit than the Brooklyn Botanic Garden today for non-NY residents (the two used to be equivalently priced), meaning the other offers better value.
